New Bachelor’s Programme


The BIS programme will teach you how to connect IT, data, and business so that you become someone who not only understands technology but can also use it to deliver real results. From developing applications and working with AI to managing projects, you will gain the skills that will enable you to thrive in any company and in a fast-changing world.

 

  • three-year/six-semester study programme
  • 180 ECTS credits / 30 credits per semester
  • full-time Bachelor’s (undergraduate) programme
  • taught in English language
  • tuition fee – 5,000 EUR/academic year   (2,500 EUR/semester)
  • application deadlines: 28 February and 30 April
  • starts every September

The study programme focuses on combining IT and business knowledge. Graduates understand the economic dimension of analytical solutions and are able to apply them effectively in practice. The programme also emphasizes the development of key skills for the 21st century.

BIS study plan – recommended study plan

Graduates of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Information Systems and Computer Science can pursue a wide range of career paths, not only in the field of IT. The knowledge and skills they acquire during their studies enable them to work as:

 

  • Business Analyst
  • Software Developer
  • Application and IT Infrastructure Administrator
  • Project Manager
  • Junior UX/UI Design Specialist
  • Junior Specialist in Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, and AI
  • Security Analyst
  • Information Systems Testing and Deployment Specialist
  • Data Manager

 

The study program focuses on combining IT skills and business knowledge, opening doors for graduates to careers in IT companies, banks, insurance companies, public administration, and other organizations that rely on information systems.

 

Graduates are also entitled to continue their studies at the graduate level. At FIS they may continue their studies with either the Economic Data Analysis or the Information Systems Management Master’s programmes.

There are two application rounds:

  • February 28 (recommended for Visa-required students)
  • April 30

Admission requirements:

  • secondary education
  • proof of English proficiency

Applicants are asked to:

  1. Complete the online application form, pay the application fee, upload a scan of your passport or ID

  2. Add study documents  –  (ask for Assessment of previous education)

  3. Pass admission exam –EDS exam sample

 

BIS Bachelor programme is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic as a first-cycle higher education qualification.

According to the Czech legislation,  graduates of the programme will be awarded the academic degree Bc. (baccalarius).
The degree’s abbreviation Bc. is to be used before the name of the graduate (e.g. Bc. Jan NOVAK).

Graduates are entitled to continue their studies at the graduate level.
