My First Few Weeks of Classes: What I Learned

Written by AMRITA

Hi everyone! My name is Amrita Singh, and this is my first blog post. I’m feeling a mix of excitement and a little bit overwhelmed while writing this. I wanted to share some friendly tips based on what I’ve experienced so far.

Moving to a new city and starting school can be quite challenging, especially when you’re adjusting to a different culture, weather, and living situation. Before you arrive, try to learn a bit about Prague and the Czech culture to make the transition easier. Take your time to explore the city—it’s beautiful! Getting to know your surroundings will help you feel more at home.

Building a network of friends among your classmates is really important. Making connections can help you feel less alone and provide support and different perspectives. Don’t be shy—introduce yourself, start conversations, and maybe meet up after class to discuss your studies or just hang out. It really helps to make you feel comfortable.

The university offers a lot of resources beyond just classes, including extracurricular activities, gyms, libraries, and workshops. Be sure to take advantage of these! They can really enhance your experience.

Starting something new can come with challenges, but keeping a positive attitude is key. Celebrate your small victories along the way and remember that every step is part of the learning process. If you’re transitioning to a new program, I suggest reading a bit about the subjects you’ll be studying. It makes the change smoother.

In conclusion, starting your studies is a journey full of opportunities for growth and discovery. Embrace the changes, stay curious, and enjoy every moment of this exciting chapter. If you have any questions or just want to chat, feel free to reach out. Happy studying!
