Day of FIS PhD students
On 29 January 2025, the 30th anniversary scientific seminar “Day of FIS PhD Students” took place under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics of the University of Economics. This seminar was held in a more intimate spirit, due to the total number of 5 participating PhD students, but even so, the subsequent discussions were full of energy and ideas. The scientific seminar was held in only one session, and had time allowed, we believe the papers would have sparked lengthy discussions.
The program concluded with the awarding of the best contribution and honorable mention. This year the awardees included:
Applied Informatics:
1st place: Ing. Petr Hoza, A Case Study on Evaluating Reasoning in Large Language Models
Econometrics and Operations Research:
Honorable mention: Ing. Martin Konopásek, Unemployment Rate Analysis by Using Complex Explanatory Model.
We congratulate the mentioned PhD students and look forward to their further scientific successes. We would also like to thank all other PhD students who participated in the seminar. We remind you that the seminar also welcomes contributions from PhD students who have presented at an earlier seminar, especially if they have made significant progress in their work.
