Pub Quiz Night

Last week, our university community gathered for an exciting Pub Quiz Night at Magneto, a cozy bar located near our dorms. The event, which I and my colleague Armita hosted, was full of good humor, friendly competition, and a wonderful atmosphere. We used Kahoot to administer the quiz, and the questions were arranged in five topics:

1. University-related questions: Assessing our familiarity with our own academic home.
2. History of Central Europe: An in-depth examination of our region’s complicated and rich past.
3. Guess the Person: Various historical personalities.
4. Sports: Testing participants’ understanding of different athletic accomplishments.
5. Guess the Flag: This entertaining but challenging category tested everyone’s knowledge of geography.

The energy in the room was fantastic, and the friendly rivalry made the evening even more entertaining. We offered prizes to the first, second, and third place to add even more excitement and motivation to the competition. After the quiz was over, many of us stayed behind to continue the fun and make the most of the evening by playing darts and table football. I got the chance to prove my friends once again that I am great at playing darts, since they forgot that I was the winner lasttime we played! 🎯 It was wonderful to watch everyone relax, mingle, and have fun!

Events like this are not just about the competition—they’re also a fantastic opportunity for students to meet new people, connect with peers from different study years, and exchange experiences. Older students gave first-year students helpful study advice, and more experienced students shared their perspectives on classes, exams, and college life. These informal gatherings help strengthen our university community, making it easier to build friendships and support networks.

The event was a huge success, uniting students for an enjoyable, competitive, and educational evening. Don’t worry if you missed it, there will always be another opportunity! We are eager to hold another round and find out who wins the next pub quiz!
