Looking back: International Week 2026

The 10th anniversary year of I WEEK was held in cooperation with four faculties of the VŠE: the main organizer was the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics (FIS), with the Faculty of Finance and Accounting (FFA) and the Faculty of International Relations (FIR) also participating in the preparations, and the Faculty of Economics (FE) also joining in. This year, we managed to offer the widest selection of courses and the highest number of foreign professors in the history of the event. The program was intensive for both visiting teachers and students—classes were held for three days, every day from morning to the afternoon, nevertheless the entire I WEEK ran smoothly and without complications.

According to the received feedback, students were thrilled with I-WEEK. They especially appreciated the professional organization, clear communication, and pleasant atmosphere created by the team. The feedback shows that they felt well-informed and perceived the teaching as meaningful and enriching. They considered the meetings with foreign lecturers to be a significant opportunity. Their comments indicate that I-WEEK met and often exceeded their expectations. Some comments pointed to improvements in the technical facilities of some classrooms and more consistent information sharing, but this did not affect their overall satisfaction.

Visiting professors also gave I WEEK very positive reviews. They emphasized the professional approach of the organizers, their helpfulness throughout the stay, and the carefully planned accompanying program, which allowed them to get to know not only the university, but also the city and its atmosphere. Many of them highlighted the activity of the students and their interest in the topics discussed. They also made several suggestions that could contribute to further improvement – clearer instructions on the technology in the classrooms and the need to better inform students about the expectations and requirements of the courses. Even so, their evaluations were extremely positive, and most of them would recommend their participation to colleagues.

Overall, I-WEEK 2026 was an extremely successful anniversary year, confirming that intensive international teaching has a firm place at VŠE. The collaboration of four faculties, record participation of foreign professors, and high satisfaction among students and teachers show that this event has a strong impact and contributes significantly to the development of the academic community. The organizers are taking away not only a lot of praise, but also inspiring ideas that will help further improve the quality of I-WEEK in the coming years.
