Hello, cricket enthusiasts and future students! My name is Praveen Sharma, and I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree at the Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE). Today, I want to share an incredible experience that’s not just close to my heart but is also a milestone in Czech cricket history. I had the honor of playing in the first-ever test cricket match in the Czech Republic—and we brought home the trophy!

Bringing Home the Trophy

Winning the trophy was an emotional moment for all of us. The sense of pride we felt was overwhelming. We had accomplished something that many thought impossible. Holding that trophy aloft, I couldn’t help but think about all the people who supported us—our coaches, families, friends, and fans. It was not just a win for our team but a victory for cricket in the Czech Republic.

 

The love and support we received from the local community have been heartwarming. More and more people are now talking about cricket, and we’ve even had youngsters showing up at our practice sessions, eager to learn the sport. This journey is only just beginning, but I’m hopeful that this historic win will inspire future generations of Czech cricketers.
