One Place to Start: FIS Introduces New Student Services

Study administration, applications, confirmations, and other study-related matters – FIS students now have one place where they can start. Student Services provides a single point of contact for matters related to their studies.

The idea is simple: students do not need to know in advance which office or staff member to contact. If we can resolve their request directly at the Student Services, we will do so. If it needs to be handled elsewhere, we will help them find the right office or contact person.

Working together in a shared office also allows our team members to exchange knowledge and support one another in handling individual cases. The aim is to provide a more flexible service and make it as easy as possible for students to find the right information or solution. For matters requiring greater privacy, a separate meeting room will also be available.

Student Services is headed by Eva Grebe, who works alongside five colleagues supporting FIS students: Terezie Barešová, Jana Hudčeková, Tereza Krajíčková, Petra Demjanovičová, and Irena Volná. Eva Grebe previously worked at the Faculty of International Relations, where she spent many years working with students and international programmes. She also has experience supporting doctoral students and researchers and teaching intercultural communication.

To create the new Student Services office, FIS Dean Ota Novotný allocated half of his former dean’s office and reduced his own workspace. Student Services is therefore located directly within the faculty management area.

Where and When Can You Visit Student Services?

Student Services is located on the 4th floor of the New Building, in room NB 403. You can visit us during office hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Detailed office hours, contact information, and an overview of individual areas of responsibility can be found here.

Veronika Brunerová, formerly the ISM/EDA Programme Coordinator, has moved to a new role within FIS. She is now responsible for marketing and recruitment for international programmes, as well as developing the student and alumni community. Although her role has changed, she remains in close contact with students.
