About the University
The Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE), founded in 1953, is the largest public university in the field of economics and business in the Czech Republic. VŠE has six faculties offering applicants a broad spectrum of bachelor, master, PhD and MBA study programmes. One of them is the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics.
Currently, there are more than 14,000 students at VŠE. The university cooperates with more than 250 partner universities worldwide. There are approximately 1 000 outgoing students annually with an even higher number of foreign students accepted from abroad. All VŠE students can spend one semester abroad at one of the partner universities as part of their studies.
INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATIONS AND RANKING
The university is highly appraised both in the Czech Republic and abroad. In March 2024, VŠE became the first university in the Czech Republic to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). AACSB International, founded in 1916, is the world’s largest alliance in the field of business and management education. Less than 6% of colleges worldwide offering economics and management degree programs hold AACSB accreditation.
The “Master in Official Statistics” (one of the study specialization of the Master programme Economic Data Analysis) received the accreditation EMOS by the ESSC (European Statistical System Committee) .
VŠE is ranked by the Financial Times annually and has already been appraised for several years by the Eduniversal Ranking project as one of the best “business schools” in Central and Eastern Europe.
